Good Beginners BARF Book?

Hi,

I would like to read up on BARF as I am considering it for Bruce. I've seen a few books that look interesting and wondered if anyone had any opinions on these that they could please share?

The main books seem to be:
Raw Meaty Bones (Lonsdale, 2001)
Natural Nutrition (Shulze, 1999)
Barf Diet (Billinghurst, 2001)
Raw Dog Food: Making it work (MacDonald, 2003)

and also Lonsdale has a new book out 30/10 called 'Work Wonders: Feed you dog raw meaty bones' which I wondered if it was worth waiting for?

Thanks!

I like Raw Meaty Bones by Tom Lonsdale - lots of very good information in that one. He's less inclined toward vegetables than many others, so it's good to read both points of view. I'd combine it with Kymythy Schultze's Natural Nutrition

Thanks Debbie - I didn't want to end up even more confused by reading loads of books each offering a slightly different viewpoint! (I also saw your thread in the BARF forum about meat suppliers in the UK, and have emailed Landywood pet foods about delivery). Thanks - I'll get the books ordered!

I like Billinghursts book. I read Lonsdale, but I found he talked more about how bad the pet food industry was and how good raw was etc but not really what to feed as much. I thought Billinghursts gave a good account of what to feed (ignore the vege parts if you dont wanto feed them ) and what each food is good for, nutritionally wise

Those are the only ones ive read lol. Our libraries are crap and im too cheap to buy books
