Marley & Me
Has anybody read this book? It's about a yellow lab, not a boxer, but all dog lovers will love this book. A lot of the things that Marley does in the book are boxer-like anyway. It made me laugh out loud, as well as cry out loud. I think the author's name was John Grogan or something like that. I lent the book to a friend, so I can look at it to make sure. But it's a true story, and it's great. It should be required reading for dog owners.

I read this book!! It was great! My neighbor let me borrow it and told me that she thought I would love it, and I did!!
At the time, I had a big old lady of a Rottie named Cow, who was old and slowly slipping away from us.
While coming to the end of the book, I got very upset and began to cry. When I got to the very end, I was hysterical in tears and I went out to the living room and curled up on my sleeping boyfriend's lap and sobbed "The dog died!!".
He thought I meant Cow.
He shot up and ran intot he bedroom to see our big mush of a dog pick up her head and look at him like he was nuts.
This was probably about a year ago, and I have still not been forgiven.
Also, when someone had mentioned that they were reading the book, I misundertood them. I thought they said they had already read it, and finished it. So when I replied "It was so sad in the end when he died, I cried so hard", I was met with a very blank stare.... and was told that I just ruined the ending.
Oops.
The book was amazing, and they also have a children's book about the same dog - I am thinking of getting it for my 4 year old nephew....

I read it, and LOVED it. I couldn't put it down. However, I did cry, a lot. But I thought it was a wonderful book.

I bought it for my mom for her Birthday. I haven't got a chance to steal it from her and read it yet though!

This is a great book. Do you mean "boxer like" as in destroying everything, and general misbehaving?? LOL

I just read it also - great book! I don't normally read 'real-life' types of books, but I truly enjoyed this one. It had me laughing and crying. The author really has a way with words.

As the others have already said - LOVED it. I too cried a lot but then again I do cry during most films. My children (8 & 9) dread me taking them to the movies!!!
My DD (9) read it after me and loved it as well.

I bought this book in the Airport on the way to Las Vegas for my husband's softball tourney. The guys were looking me weird on the plane when I would burst out laughing and then 5 minutes later crying. I finished the book about 3:30 in the morning (vegas time) sitting in the bathroom while my husband and the other couple we stayed with were all passed out drunk. I was balling my eyes out. The next morning they all asked if I had been drinking (I don't drink much usually the DD). I told them I finished the book and the dog has died. They still haven't let me live it down. Who brings a book on vacation that makes them cry.
It was such an incredible journey to give and get that unconditional love.
