A Good Dog, By Jon Katz

Has anyone read the book A Good Dog, By Jon Katz? I just finished it and I wonder what others think. I had a lot of mixed emotions and my heart broke for Orson. I respect Jon for being able to make such a tough decision especially when he loved Orson so deeply. But I also wonder if he really knew enough about the breed to take on such a troubled case. I think the book was trying to remind us that these animals that we love so much are not on the same level as humans. I tend to forget that sometimes.
