Looking for a training book!

I have a five month old fawn boxer. He is so smart and always wants to please me. I have been working with him since he was eight weeks old to get a jump start on his training - not expecting great results. However, he does some trick and the basic sit, lay but needs work on stay and come. I want the security to know that when I let him out of the yard that he will come back when I call or to stay where I tell him. I work with him daily but need an extra edge to make him more focused and obedient. So if any one know of a great training book for boxers no matter the level please let me know. Thanks

I'd suggest Dr Dunbar's "Before & After you get your puppy", "Good little dog book" and even "dog behaviour" if you feel so inclined

Another good puppy training book is "Beginning family dog training" by Patricia B McConnell.

The Culture Clash by Jean Donaldson is great too. Don't underestimate the class setting for puppy training. It is a great option for socialization, distractions and enhance behavior knowledge.

Patricia McConnell has a great new book out, too: "Family Friendly Dog Training: A Six Week Program for You and Your Dog". There's also Pat Miller's "The Power of Positive Dog Training", another six-week program.

If you're interested in clicker training, I'd suggest a combination of Peggy Tilman's "Clicking with Your Dog" and Melissa Alexander's "Click for Joy!".

I like Training Your Boxer by Joan Hustace Walker. It's published by Barron's. I got it at Borders for only $10, but in my opinion, it's worth much more. I look at it everytime I have a question, (nearly every day). I also like The Boxer Handbook by the same author. (No, I'm not a relative, just like her stuff
