Question aggression

My Boxer Romeo is an absolute love to all the people he has met and to our small Terrier mix Peanut. But when he is near other dogs he tries to bite them. He does not always give a warning growl. In obediance class, he would learn every new task quickly, but we had to sit away from the other dogs or he would snap at them. Any ideas? Thanks.

I would need more information such as age, neutered/not neutered, and examples in detail of his behavior.

Are you sure he doesn't just want to play? Usually a dog will give some sort of warning to another before a fight. This sounds like play to me.

In the meantime you can do a search here at Boxerworld using search words like "aggression" and "aggressive" and you will find TONS of useful information on this subject. If you can't find your answers there, post again.

Good luck.

Romeo is 8 months old. He is not neutered. He does like to rough house with our other little dog. It might be that I'm just worried about him getting a bad reputation in the neighborhood. He is also the biggest dog we have ever had, so we do have to get used to that. Thank you for your response Tulsa-Dan.
