Angry Change in routine...change in behavior

Just wanted to share a lesson we learned.

Scarlet gets a 3 mile walk 5 times per week at 6:00 PM without fail. She looks forward to these walks with passion. (She starts crying and whining and pacing at about 4:30 PM ) Well, the past two weeks have been very busy around here (Husband working late, we have also been painting in the evenings, etc.) so needless to say we havent been able to walk her.

Scarlet has in the last two weeks, peed in the house 3 times, has started to dig in the trash cans again and is running off with shoes and socks right in front of us.

It seems obvious now but it took us a while to make the connection as to why she was acting like this. I wanted to pass on that if you notice a change in your Boxers behavior start thinking about what changes are going on in your normal routine.

Thats all.

PS My husband actually left work early yesterday just to come home and walk her. How spoiled is THAT!

Mason has also been acting out lately. I have been coming home later than usual, and he is letting me know he doesn't like it. He peed on an electric outlet last night. I was affraid to clean it, I didn't want to get shocked (I did clean it tho )

My two are the same way. They can tell when things are not normal. They also start pacing and whining when they know they are supposed to be fed, etc. The other day we got home much later than usual and I was dealing with mail, messages and stuff and I finally looked down and they were standing by their food bowls with that look on their face. I had to laugh about how I was so busy and they were patiently waiting for dinner.

Yes, we are going through this now, although Ruby is never bad, so to speak. We are moving to another house and when we are packing boxes she is trying to rip the boxes apart and drag them around the room. Running around the house, not sure where to go or what to do. We've tried keeping her as quiet as possible, as she's recovering from exploratory surgery, but she's just raring to go.

Oscar has an internal clock that tells him when it's chow time. He always gets his first meal in the morning before we go to work. It is impossible to sleep in on the weekends. When the appointed time comes, he gets off the bed, stares at us and starts to whine. Softly and tentatively at first, but this morning I decided to try to ignore him to see if he would give up and go back to sleep. Nope -- he whined louder and louder and finally came over and jumped on me.

Needless to say, I gave in. He got his breakfast on time.
