Digging!!!!!

Pandora just turned 3 and has started digging! She has never done this before and she always digs up the same tree in the back yard. This has also become her favorite place to lay. Yesterday she dug the tree up again and took one of my shoes (she hasn't touched my shoes since she's been 5 months old) from my closet up stairs and put it in the hole! What has started this behavior? And how do I stop it? She does not dig when I'm
Home so I can never catch her in the act!

I'm sick of filling in the hole, someone suggested putting chicken wire down and then filling in the hole. But I'm worried the wire will cut her paws? I definitely need any and all suggestions!

the wire will not cut her feet, they just don't like how it feels.
You can also put their poop in the hole or cayenne pepper.

Hopefully, you will have luck with one of those.
We have had NO luck with anything with Bella. She just loves to dig.
