Unhappy Doddie Depression after death of companion

I posted the other day in the rainbow bridge about my baby who had nine lives. Wilson- rip. Our 10 month old boxer got so sick on Wed evening we decided to take him first thing in the am to the vet. He was lethargic, did not want to eat, whining like he could not catch his breath. I was so stressed. The am could not come soon enough. We decided to wait because he was breathing fine and we wanted to see our vet not an emergency vet. Exam stated he did not have a blockage, they gave him a antibiotic shot due to his symptoms of not eating etc. Thursday was awful. He slept all day, refused to eat or drink and would not move. I was told to let the antibiotic work. Friday morning we took him back in. Before we arrived he heard his chain and perked up. Was told he has severe depression and a stomach bug. Today I have to report 90 prevent better. I had a stressful week with Miles.. Rip buddy who died and then seeing my Newman suffer the effects of him not being around. My vet sent me flowers and my baby has and still is getting over it. I seen it prior when my other boxer died and Wilson was depressed but Newman physically got sick. It was heart breaking for all of us. I hand feed him bar bananas, pedialiyte that he did not like and chicken and rice. Just wanted to let you know the extreme signs off loss for some dogs. I wish I could post the pic and video here. I hope no one has to ever experience. I'm grateful he was not going to die, he had those symptoms.

That must've been so hard on your family! I am sorry that your fur baby had to go through that. I hope he is feeling better now.
