Does my boxer sleep too much?

Hi!
My little boy is 5 months old and he sleep almost all day and all night. When he is awake is very active and seems happy, but I've seen other boxer puppys in the park and the look like crazy devils and the owners ask me if my boy destroys clothes or shoes and he does not.

Maybe he is bored at home that's why he sleeps?

Sorry for my english, I hope someone can understand =S

Usually it is the opposite, a bored pup will destroy things! As long as Raiden gets daily exercise, he sleeps most of the day as well. I often work night shifts and he will sleep all night with my husband then curl up in bed with me and sleep for 7 hours during the day.

He is also still a baby, they tend to sleep a bit more.

Dogs sleep about 75% of the time. Your boy sounds normal to me. You are lucky he is well behaved, but things may change. The terrible teens are coming.

golly!!

What i wouldnt pay to have one day with your boy!
My pup has just hit one of his monster stages, this includes breaking pots, destroying the glasses, sleeping on the bed, putting out manzi's hair (saves me having to tackle her double collie coat!), digging under the pavers, pulling out the plants, stealing my bf's socks, generally taking anything he wants and putting it where he thinks it should be... Boxer's think they are home decorators, but they really arent!

He gets walked everyday and plays at the park, but holy hell the amount of energy is amazing! He usually is good, a model puppy, but once he has a growth spert he is a wild child! Each time he is getting better though, Manzi is a great help at keeping him occupied and fresh bones and raw hide treats are great for during the day out in the yard (crating isnt popular in Australia, but i can see the benefits!)

i think you should embrace this quiet episode, when puppies sleep thats when they grow same with horses and most baby animals), maybe once his spurt stops his energy will spring him back to life.... otherwise i will be a little bit jealous! haha

Great English!!!

As they say, "Let sleeping dogs lie". LOL A bored puppy is usually rammy and doing things not too favorable.

Just wait......this may change. My girl has always been sort of a laid back boxer and rarely did things she shouldn't. So some boxers, though rare, are just generally relaxed and care free. Some, like someone I won't mention (Raine), is way over the top in boxer energy and mischeiviousness! If you haven't read Cami's Raine stories yet, you should. Will make your bundle of joy almost perfect! lol (PS, I love Raine and her stories.....makes my day that she owns someone else! hahahahahh)
