Jake is at it again

Silly dog. This morning's walk was like either having a garbage collector or a billy goat on a leash. Seems like he went for every bit of trash along the way. I spent most of the walk trying to keep him away from bits of paper and other junk or prying it out of his mouth if he snatched it before I saw it. He seems hell bent on snacking on all kinds of stuff. Luckily, it all seems to pass right through. And people worry about feeding these dogs "people food"!

Well, the good thing is that you have ample opportunities to teach the "leave it!" command. Bring some treats on the walk with you, and when he goes for something, tell him to "leaveit!", and when he stops paying attention to it, treat.

thanks for the advice. Didn't make the morning walk today - very cold and windy and all Jake wanted to do was snooze.
