PLEASE do not put another fluffy bed in there!!!! If you do a search on my posts from about a year ago my boy ATE his bedding despite having numerous toys and Kongs and had to have a foreign body removal surgery to get it out of his stomach and intestines. It was a $2,000 surgery, a 4 week recovery time (to recover completely), 2 weeks of NO exercise whatsoever 100% crated and 2 weeks of minimal exercise, and he now has a permanent 8-10 inch scar down his stomach. PLEASE do not put bedding in there if he is one to chew up beds, it can have serious and possibly deadly consequences you've been lucky so far, count your lucky stars and move on. Dogs lay on concrete voluntarily a crate floor is much better than an extremely ill dog.

I will say I have found Kuranda beds they make a crate bed, they're chewproof and it is FABULOUS. I spent around $80 for one but it's 100% warrantied for a year and my chewer (who ATE his bed) hasn't bothered this and he loves it. If you do a search you will find them easy enough. I ordered from their website the crate bed.

Anyway for toys in the crate I do Kongs, non edible durable Nylabones, or Hurley bones but that's all.

Good luck.

Good Luck,

check online MUCH cheaper. I buy them too, NEVER paid that much. I think I typically get them at Entirelypets or amazon, sometimes e-bay.

Thanks for the suggestions. I also like the suggestion to use ties to keep the crate pan in place. He pushes his crate pan out all the time and I dont think sitting on the metal bars or having the chance to have an accident on the carpet is a very good thing.

I don't typically get really fluffy beds, just the crate pad that has the fluff around the edges, but we still haven't replaced his and he just has a towel at this point which i don't think he likes too much.

I will see what I can find as far as the chew proof beds go. Dunno that I'll be able to talk my husband into an 80 bed for the dog, but we'll see...

He has seemed to like the kong well enough. At least it gives him something indestructable to chew on during the day. I'm still trying to figure out what a good kong stuffing would be.

Thanks again for all of the suggestions!
