chewing electrical cords

A while back Ozzy chewed through the cord on my heating pad, it was a one time incident and luckily it wasn't plugged in. Since then, I haven't been leaving things like that out. But I think he has started pulling (not really chewing) the cord out of the socket in our bedroom. We have an extension cord from an outlet to a lamp and there is a bit that is exposed from behind our dresser. The other day I noticed it was unplugged and thought it was strange, but didn't think much of it. Then this morning when I was getting ready for work (I keep them in the room with me so I can keep an eye on them) he yelped, bounced across the room, and the light went out. I noticed again that the cord was unplugged from the wall. I assume he pulled it out and got a nice little shock.

Do you think he may have learned his lesson from getting shocked today? He seemed pretty freaked out by it and looked at me as if saying "what the heck was that mom?" Or do I need to seriously look at rearranging my whole bedroom so I can keep the cords out of reach?

Oh dear, that is so dangerous. I really think you have to get something to protect your cords from him, just how bad would you feel if god forbid something dreadful happened.
