Advice Needed
Reese is 6 months old he is about as opposite from my other boxer as he could possibly be. Pokey was a breeze to train, however Reese is not at all that easy. When I am walking him on his leash and he decides he doesn't want to go where I want him to go, he lays down on his back and goes limp! He also does this at night when it is bedtime and I am telling him he needs to go outside one last time for the night. It is the most frustrating thing, he just lays down on his back and goes limp and you can't pick him up or anything. He reminds me of a 2 year old throwing a temper tantrum. Can you give me any suggestion how to handle this. My neighbors think is is funny...but it is getting old! I need help!

Sounds like he has the upper hand in deciding what should be done, when it's you who needs to decide.
Maybe some clicker or treat training to come to you when called is needed?
I have never had that sort of problem with Clare. I guess she knows I am the "pack leader". I do tell her that all the time!

Normally I try to make him stand or ignore him and hope by him not receiving attention from it he will get up on his own. But, it seems to be getting worse, especially when I wake him up and make him go outside for that last bathroom run before bedtime.
Any suggestions??

We have the same problem with our Bruno from time to time, when it does happen I just walk up to him and leash him, 9 out of 10 times he will just jump up and come with me to go outside. Or another way is, I lay a treat down right by the front door and tell him come, so he has to come get it, this always works with him! Then I praise him and leash him them I take him out without a fight.
Hope this helps, good luck

If he is food motivated at all I would utilize a treat. Show him the treat and walk to the door using the "come" command or "let's go potty", whatever.
He will soon associate the command and action of going outside with something tasty.
He is doing this more than likely because it gets additional attention from you. Put the ball in your court! You have ALL the good stuff and he needs to know this. When he understands to listen to YOU all the times he gets rewards, (won't always have to be a treat).

Buster used to do this, and Olive was beginning to do it. I make a ritual at bedtime, same thing every night. They hear me wash out their bowls and give fresh water, they know it bedtime. They then get up to come into the kitchen for their nighttime snack, and then go out to potty before bed. Once Olive figured out she got a snack, she quit running for the bed or refusing to get up. I just do the same ritual every night, same time and they now know what to do without having to be forced. Bedtime snack was my motivator.

Ditto to this. Use some tasty treats to your advantage, once he gets the message you can gradually fade out the treats.
