9 mth old suddenly acting out

Daisy just turned 9 months old and over the past few weeks she has started "acting out". Before we were able to leave her out of her crate while we were gone for a few hours, but now she has started pulling the cushions off the couch and getting them unzipped to pull the stuffing out. She also started digging in the mulch...she hasn't done that since she was a young puppy. And finally, she has peed in the house the past couple of nights! She hasn't had an accident in the house since she was 2 months old! Usually, she will whine if she needs to go out, but the past couple of nights I will hear her get up, get a drink of water, and then she'll come back into the bedroom a couple of minutes later. I will get up and see a huge puddle in front of the front door! Is this behavior common in 8-9 month olds? Or could it be more serious? She gets plenty of attention and exercise...I just don't understand it.

Might be a good time to bring back that crate! Sounds like she's hit the bratty teen stage. At this point they seem to forget everything you ever taught them so you may have to back up a bit in the training department.

Perfectly normal !

Step up the training again, and I'd crate her too whenever leaving the house

She definitely lost ALL of her out of crate privileges! I feel a little better knowing that it's normal at that age to "untrain" themselves!

Our guy did the same thing around the 9 month age too. If we weren't paying attention to him he'd start barking at us. We stepped up the physical exercise and he had a little more crate time then usual. It passed in a few weeks. This too will pass
