Cool And we are.. BACK!

Yay!!!!

We are back at practice!! We had to stop during the crazy summer heat, since our group meets outdoor.

We went Sunday 2nd of October for the 1st time since... wow.. since April for Snatch? Crazy Texas weather!!! Anyway, Snatch was going through the course like he practiced all summer long!!! Even the weaves looked more... "sleek" this time! Of course, he took off to go straight to the tunnel on our 1st run... <<sigh>>

We need practice, because we are doing a demo for a chihuahua rescue event on the 22nd of October. I will do it with Snatch.
I will do a video of our next practice this sunday I wonder if I could do the demo off-leash. I am just afraid he would take off... to do burns in the rescue event.. and go say "hi" to every chihuahua...

I took Oxy with us to practice. Actually, DH decided to come, because he sudenly had a "lightbulb" moment during our vacations and told me "I need to help you with Oxford's aggression issue".

UGH!!??? did I hear that right??

Anyway, I didn't ask him to repeat when he told me "I will come to agility practice with you"... I am so happy with DH!!!
Not so happy with Oxy...
It has been a year since he has not been to practice. The surgeon told me he could go back to agility in sept 2011 (4inches - no balance equipment).. but his behavior is ATTROCIOUS! He lunged at every dog - dogs he used to tolerate!
I know it will take time.
I had to tell DH to stand wayyyyyyy back. Little by little, we will reduce the distance.
The good thing is, during the run, he was very nicely focused on me (and the hot dogs)

But other than that, Snatch off-leash and Oxy on-leash, we received only compliments on their agility skills! The trainer even asked me if i did a summer course with them!

Nop, it's only boxer brain!!

They are all .. amazed.. they have never seen boxers in agility (in this agility world of shepherds.. )
I say 2012, Snatch will do a trial!

Great to hear you are back to practice! I have been away from BW for a few days, but wanted to drop a quick note. Definitely need more boxers in agility.

Good luck and keep us posted!
