Layla and the A frame, we are so proud!
It is great to be a proud boxer parent!
The past saturday was the last of our obediance classes, at least for that series. As we were standing around chatting, one of the parents was interested in trying to get his dog to do the A-frame(?). The next class was for agility so it was in the room. With some guidance from our trainer, his dog got up far enough to get his hind feet on the rungs but no farther. Pretty soon everyone had to try. No dog would go more than a foot up, even with the tastiest of treats on the rungs.
During all this Layla was intently watching, and finally her turn comes up. To everyone's amazement, including mine, she just walked up it and down the other side on the first try. This was so much fun, we just had to do it again. This time she eagerly ran up, airborne over the top, and back down to a cheering crowd. What great fun! (And what a show off a boxer can be)
We have been thinking about agility training when she gets a little older. It is a sure thing now!
