6 Yr old Female in Mass looking for good home

Hi everyone,

It is with a sad heart that I'm posting this message. We must find a new home for our beautiful girl Hera. We rescued her from a bad situation about 2 years ago, and she has made great strides in becoming a happy, well adjusted dog.

We had a bitting incident with her and my 10 month old daughter. Hera has never taken a bite at anyone before and loves kids in general. I just think that she's not well suited to a home with small children.

I'll try to amend this message with more information about Hera soon, in the meantime if you would like to speak to me directly about Hera you can call me at xxx-xxx-xxx (edited by moderator - please do not post your phone number). You can also see pictures of Hera in my picture gallery.

Sincerely,
Dawn Geoffroy

Expanding on the "biting incident"

I received an email from a friend stating that I should elaborate on the bite incident and what happened.

I had just came in from getting the mail and set the baby down on the floor. Hera was lying down nearby, but it appeared that the baby was going to crawl in the opposite direction. Instead my daughter went over to Hera and I think she may have touched her in some way. Unfortunately I didn't see the incident completely. I know that babies can have very sharp little nails and if she tried to use Hera to stand up, it's understandable that Hera would have lashed out.

So I think the baby came up behind her and touched her in some way that alarmed or angered Hera in some way. Hera barked and bit at her forehead, leaving one mark in her hairline and another one on her forehead.

That's the facts of the incident, I hope that answers any questions for folks considering her for adoption.

Hi Dawn,
I am sorry to hear what happened with your daughter and Hera. Hera is a beautiful girl. I wish I could be more help but although I do not have any small children now, there are plenty to come to visit and I hope to have some in the future. Have you contacted the local boxer rescues? Northeast Boxer Rescue and Boxer Buddies are wonderful organizations and I'm sure they'd be happy to help. There info is listed in the Rescue Organization pages.

Good luck.
