Tough decision!

I was just informed that one of my pet sitting clients needs to re-home their 3 year old Boxer.
I have been caring for him since he was 10 months old. I would take him in a heartbeat if Cami didn't have so many health issues. Sadly it is what it is and she comes 1st. I know how she is with other dogs (loves them) and she doesn't police herself and I fear that her health would suffer greatly with another dog in the home due to her heart (among other things!).
This boy is white, (hearing), natural ears and docked tail. UTD on vaccinations. 100% potty trained. He is a wonderful Boxer and I just love him to pieces. I will miss him! If anyone is in the central Ohio area and would perhaps like an early Christmas present let me know!
The owners son has asthma and is allergic and can't be around him without getting really ill.
Rescues in the area are pretty full and they would have to foster him at their own home until something opened up and with their sons health at risk they can't. He needs a home sooner rather than later.
I've put the word out to anyone I know who would make a great Boxer family. I wish I could do more.

Oh, too bad you can't take him but I totally understand why. I wish I were closer, although DH probably wouldn't let me have another anyway but I sure would try!

I wish we were closer, Johann would love a brother.

Hopefully they can find a home (or temporary foster) so he doesn't have to go to a shelter.

ARGGG!!!

I have gotten the word out SO well that I have a foster home set up (who I think would fall in love and keep him---I placed another Boxer with them within the past year). I also have had numerous inquiries concerning him. Some have previous Boxer experience, some don't.
For whatever reason the owners are NOT returning my e-mails (three) and two phone numbers that I had for them (home and cell) are no longer working?? Quite odd to say the least.

Hubby and potential foster parents have told me to go to their house tomorrow if I don't hear anything to see what is going on. I on the other hand have no intention of doing so. This all started with an e-mail from the client. One would *think* that if in fact they were serious that they would be checking their e-mail for a response from ME due to them contacting me to begin with!

Possible that once they took the leap and put something in writing that they had a change of heart. Might also have found a new home on their own however common decency says that they could at least let me know since they again.....contacted ME!

DH keeps asking Cami if she would like to have a little brother (who is FAR from being "little" in comparison to her).

Good Grief.

It is odd that they seemed to fall off the earth. My gut instinct would tell me to check the local shelters. They may have just figured it would be easier to dump him than go through the hassel of waiting. It wouldn't suprise me since you haven't heard hide nor hair from them.

I would do this too. Sounds to me like they are hiding from you.

Her rescue is pretty much null and void due to a variety of issues.

The owners contacted me right before Thanksgiving. Seems the decision was proving to be more difficult than they thought. I am just waiting to see what they decide.
