Need a foster/temp home or permament for Elvis

Hi Guys,

I haven’t been on Boxerworld in a while but sadly I am returning not for good reasons.

I need to re-home my baby. I have had him from 8weeks old, and he is now 5. Unfortunately I am going through a divorce and since Feb have been living back with my parents. As things have been a bit tricky lately I have decided to go travelling for a year to clear my head and see where I want to go with my life, this isn’t a decision I have made lightly so please don’t judge me for leaving my boy, I am heartbroken but its something I really need to do, unfortunately this leaves Elvis without a home.

As much as my parents love him, they have just got to the stage in their lives where they can come and go as they please holiday etc, and having a dog would tie them down.

I have asked everyone I know, even random boxer owners I see walking and have yet to find a home. I really really don’t feel happy about putting him in an animal shelter even a boxer one, as he has never been in kennels and being quite nervous and skittish I think it would really stress him out.

So here I am wondering if anyone themselves or knows of anyone that would be willing to take on my baby, whether it be for a foster home for the year I am away or permanent.

I really would like him to go to someone with previous boxer experience.

Any questions or interest please let me know.

Hi Hannah, I'm sorry to hear your news, what a tough time for you. I remember reading your posts about Elvis when you were on here regularly. I'm not in a position to take on Elvis myself as we have 2 boxers and a toddler but have you been in touch with any boxer specific rescues? There's one here in Scotland and if a dog doesn't do well in kennels they will try to place them with a foster till a new home is found.

Good luck.
