Re: I need To Find A New Home For Fletcher
Hey, Kristy, so glad your Easter meal went ok, and everyone "mucked in " to help you out
I think your DH's idea of advertising is good - I'm sure whoever you pick will be able to produce some kind of reference, and so long as you find out where they stay etc, they won't run off with Fletcher, you silly girl!
Hope you are continuing to get plenty of rest, and still have lots of helpers around you
Take care (((Hugs)))

Re: I need To Find A New Home For Fletcher
So sorry you are not feeling well. Sending healing vibes for wellness and strength. I also have been haveing health problems, and Scooter also acted out terribly. I also considered rehomeing him when he destroyed the mattress and my glasses! But I discovered a doggy daycare near my house, and the owner has 2 boxers of his own, so he know how to handle them. I send Scooter there a couple times a week for the day, and when I pick him up, I have an exhausted dog! And he is tired and quiet the next day also! On the days when I don't feel well, this has been a God send. Do consider doggy daycare. What about a motorized scooter to take Fletcher out for walks. You could "drive" it and Fletcher could run along side. A woman in my neighborhood does this with her dog, and it weems to work out great for them. You get fresh air, and Fletcher gets exercised! Praying for a donor match and speedy recovery!

Re: I need To Find A New Home For Fletcher
Oh Kristy, I feel so bad! I seldom visit this forum and so had no idea what you were facing and going through.
Raising a family is tough and exhausting at the best of times. I can't imagine doing all of it being ill as you have been.
Fletcher will continue to be there for you, but it sounds like the boy has got lots of pent up energy. Doggy day care is great if it's available to you. I also agree with talking to your vet about recommendations for a dog walker. The treadmill also sounds like a good idea.
Good luck and take care. Thinking of you and your family, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: I need To Find A New Home For Fletcher
I just found this thread and Im so sorry to hear about your health and Fletchers naughty streak, I noticed that when I had a operation last year Dakoda got rascally aswell and I wonder if they are frustrated because they know something is wrong with Mummy and they just want to help fix it???
I really hope that you find a suitable donor, I sure there is a few people closer to you on BW that may even be willing to help. Hang in there, DH is right you would definately regret giving up Fletcher he is your boy and your protector and when the going gets tough Im sure your boy Fletch will show himself again and once again be your knight in Boxer armour!
Good luck, love, wags, wiggles and best wishes to you both!

Re: I need To Find A New Home For Fletcher
How old is Fletcher and where are you located? I have a two year old female fawn. I have been thinking about a male boxer rescue as a companion for her, but have been waiting for her to grow out of her naughty teen stage, which seems to be happening...
