I am expecting a puppy this November and my family is already trying to decide upon some names that we like, although I know that it won't be possible to be quite sure until we have the dog and can assess his personality. One thing I am not sure about is the formal name that will go on the AKC registration form. Is is okay or appropriate to use the kennel name as part of his official name? This is not a show puppy, but he is going to be a pet quality puppy from a responsible breeder. Do I need permission to use the kennel name or is this just not done with pet quality dogs?
