Perhaps you could have your vet talk to your ex and tell him what it will do to take her out of her environment. Maybe if the new girl ffriend knows that this dog was a gift from his ex she may not want it. Then she would get him a dog from her. It could be their dog. Use a little reverse psychology on him. Talk to the vet. Tell the girl friend about boxers. Send her an e-mail containing info on the breed.
