Christina is right on the money. If the dam was CKC (Canada Kennel Club) registered, they could get an AKC registration. Since they aren't I am willing to bet that is is CKC (Continental Kennel Club). No way would I considers a breeder using the CKC for registration as a good ethical breeder.
You can find a good breeder with the health tests and ethics. Just keep looking and have patience. It is tough to find a breeder doing all of the proper tests that has an upcoming litter. I have too many people writing me that want a puppy yesterday. Too many good breeders only breed once or twice a year so you have to have patience. So hang in there.
