Introducing the newest ADC titled boxer

It's true - Owen achieved his ADC title in Agility!

I am just so proud of the 'big dude' that I could explode!

The trial was yesterday, Sunday November 10th. It was an indoor trial at our training facility, so I knew that he would do well, and that he knows all of the equipment. I had him entered into three standard runs, and we only needed one 'Q' (qualifying score) to get our title.

The first run was OK, but we got 5 faults because he missed a jump, and when I went to get him back into position he jumped the jump in the wrong direction This was entirely my fault, but the rest of the run was very nice, he was concentrating nicely and he performed all the other obstacles beautifully.

So now I only had two more attempts to obtain a Q.

The second run was fast, but he missed his up-contact on the dog walk, something that he has NEVER done before, I guess he has too much speed and too much confidence! We still placed fourth.

Now I was getting nervous and it all came down to the last run for our title!

The last run was a bit slower because I was controlling it a little more than usual to ensure that we qualified - and we did! He performed the best that we have ever done! He was clean and we placed 3rd! The course time was 66 seconds and we ran it in 55 seconds!

I am just too proud.

As soon as I get the pictures of Owen with his titling ribbon I will post it (hopefully over the next few days).

Owen's 'full' name is now:
Shadowdale's Follow the Leader ADC

Doesn't that look great!

If anyone is thinking about joining agility - I say do it! All the
hard work certainly pays off when you achieve your goal!

Now onto advanced...
