The clubs in my area require that people have taken the basic beginner course so that the people and the dogs know how to use the equipment........it's a safety thing.
However, as long as you have the Beginner course, you can do whatever you want in the club. We have several members who never intend to compete but enjoy coming out to club day and "playing" on the equipment.
And.........don't be too quick to write off Me-Tu's competitive future........agility is a wonderful confidence booster for dogs. She may surprise you
