Facing a Scary situation.
Well i had to share this (selfish?) heart warming moment that happened yesterday.
Dante, my husband and i went to some ruins of an old castle yesterday. We walked up one of the towers to take pictures and all that. They have a viewing platform at the top, which is only 2/3 stories high. The lower half of the staircase is original and wraps around the inside of the tower wall. It is very narrow (enclosed), fairly steep and curved just enough that you cant see the bottom. The dh was walking dante as i am the "photographer" and just got an expensive camera i didnt want to risk banging around. Well, on our way back down, when we got to the old stairs, dante froze in fear. Dh tried to coax him down but dante just started to lean/pull back and was basically in panic, making the leash tight/collar tight. I told the dh to give me the leash and itd be fine. I said "come on baby" in the voice i always talk to him in, and started walking down, fully loose leash. Dante walked down, cautiously, but right behind me, no hesitation.
It warmed my heart, only because i know how scared he was of these strange truly medieval stairs (castle built in 1180) ... But he had full trust in me that he didnt hesitate despite the scary situationi he was faced with. He trusts his mama completely. Idk, made me feel good to know for sure that our bond is there for him too. Lol. Cheesy?
