Awesome advice - thank you! We've done a lot of what you talked about already, the only one I didn't even know I could do was teach my puppy self control. She already knows a lot of commands, but how do you teach that? Is it pretty much the same as teaching other commands, like sit, stay, leave it, etc?

I didn't even know that I already knew Lucy's cue for getting too riled up. It was the "talking" or growling. Up until she does that she's just horsing around, but once she starts growling she starts getting too worked up for my daughter. I know I should also stop playing with her at the point too, right? Or is it ok for me to play with her like that? I don't want to confuse her. Can she learn how to play with different people in different ways?

She is in puppy kindergarten, just graduated last week and we're moving up a level next month. Next we want to start working on some agility with her. Our teacher doesn't think our daughter should rough house with the dog at all at this age, but I disagree, so I allow it on my daughter's comfort level.
