The breeder sent me an updated picture of Logan last night. She also gave me some bad news. He had to be brought to the vets yesterday and it turns out his tail is infected due to a bone chip from the docking. She felt horrible and offered me the chance to pick any one of the other males in the litter, but after staring at Logan's photo for the past several days I've already gotten quite attached to him. The other puppies are adorable too, but Logan is who I now have my heart set on.
She said that he has to go back to the vets in a couple of weeks to have surgery to fix it. They may have to take more of his tail so in the end his tail could end up being very short. She assures me that vet assured her that it's a very minor surgery and that there will be no further health complications from this. So, I'm going to stick with him. The way I see it is that he's not going to be a show dog so physically he doesn't have to be perfect. So long as he's happy and healthy, it's good enough for me! Afterall, his tail isn't going to dictate WHO he is!
Here's his updated pic:
