Yes, you definitely want to get up to let him out at least once during the night for the first several weeks. Don't want him to make a habit of soiling his bed.

Until he's at least 6 months old, don't count on him being housebroken -- and that's only as long as you're diligent about getting him outside every time he needs to go up until then. It takes that long before he will get the hang of the routine and realize that he's ONLY supposed to be going to the bathroom outside, not inside. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking that their pup is housetrained before 6 months, when really it's just that they've done a good job preventing accidents. So don't let your guard down too soon.
