Rex does not go in the house when we are home on the weekends. But obviously he is let outside more frequently. He has actually barked & whinned when we are in another part of the house and he needs to go so now that I think about it, he seems to know he is to go outside. As for the light thing....no there is no outside lighting and we are rural and it can be quite dark out in the yard. He really doesn't seem to care for the dark, especially in the am. Maybe an outdoor light may be helpful. Thanks to all for the input. We do believe that "this too will pass" but the question some days is how long will it take. Our female, Reina was 2 years old before she completly got it.
