Just wanted to let you know that.

How amazing are you? Sending you a big hug for thinking of me.
Tammy, I do indeed offer Reiki to animals. I'm a holistic life coach and Reiki master/teacher in the Milwaukee area. I understand your dilemma. I've spent a great deal of time searching for the education that I want and I continue to do more of course. I encourage you to seek out a holistic vet in your area. You might also contact the local humane society. Either is very likely to have some good recommendations for you. You may also want to contact local massage therapists, acupuncturists, health food purveyors, those who offer any other holistic modalities, including herbalists or naturopaths. My feeling is that they will be able to direct you to classes that you may not easily locate, many will offer certification, some may not.
Please don't necessarily be guided simply by certification. Remember I can go to Office Max, buy a certificate and offer the Sandy Walden certification course on writing long forum responses. (Now that's a certification that is backed up by fact!

) Who's to say which certification carries weight and which do not? I would encourage you to contact students of these courses and listen to their feedback before making your final decision.
It's a wonderful thing to be able to learn so many of these things on line, but for massage, my gut tells me you will most likely want some hands on training if that's at all possible.
There are some awesome books on Amazon.com, I could easily blow the budget there,

. I encourage you to read the reviews about the books extensively, both favorable and negative. Go with the ones that speak to you.
There are an amazing number of holistic modalities which will help to support your dogs health (your own as well!) T-Touch, Psych-K, massage, acupuncture, Reiki and so many others. You may consider doing a search on Google for holistic modalities. Search your local libraries, though they will likely be rather limited.
Good luck with your search Tammy, enjoy and listen to your gut. Most of all, keep us updated, I'm always interested in what others are doing.
Sandy
