Izzy has had soooo much energy lately that I had to share!! I guess her knees feel really good! She had her first surgery before 18 months old, and then the other one about 6 months later. Sept 11th was a year since her second surgery, but she did re-injure it after surgery, they thought she tore her meniscus. She has been doing the water treadmill and that has helped soooo much!! She is running like crazy, acting even more goofy, just about keeping up with Gus (and he has some long legs), and just acting like a puppy. Most of her teenage time was spent not being able to do anything, so maybe thats why she is being so crazy now. It's so awesome to see, it makes me sooooo happy. She is also sitting straight sometimes. After her surgery, she could sit off to the side that was injured or just had the operation. It seems like her recovery took forever, but she seems so good now! I don't even see her limp after she plays really rough with Gus. They said she has arthritis in both knees, but she doesn't act like it at all (she is on glucosamine/chodrotin). She kinda acts crazier than Gus now, and Gus is one crazy boy. The only thing that is making me mad with Izzy is that she is NOT listening, like a puppy. She is being such a stinker. She thinks it's funny not to listen, and to come up to the backdoor to come in, and when I go to open it, take off and look back at me as she runs. They both did this around 8-9 months old, but quickly got over it. It is kinda funny though, it is just irritating when I need to leave!!! She is 3.5 years old, and I swear it's like I have a 8 month old puppy again. I am assuming it's because her knees feel good. Or is this a normal boxer thing? Anyone else's boxer act like a goofy puppy when they turned 3.5 years old? I know boxers are clowns, but it's more than that, it's really like a have a puppy again. She has always acted silly, she is just more silly now, and running and playing crazy more now. I love it!
