It sounds like your doing the right things. There are probably many here that can help give you some suggestions. I've never had the problem with dogs but have with horses numerous times. Eventually as the young one gets older they will learn their place in the "pecking order" and will learn to give the alpha a lot of space, they will drop a toy if the alpha comes up and they will learn they are not to go to the food or water bowls first. Until she gets a bit older and has learned these things just keep watching when they are together. Hopefully she will learn to "give in" quickly and all will be calm again.
