We have looked at the boxer rescue sites and at shelters. The problem is that we have two young children and bringing a dog home who has been rescued or has not been exposed to young children might be difficult. I recently have contacted two breeders in the area. We want to bring a puppy into our home again and keep Lennox's spirit alive. While one breeder is eight hours away and won't have a litter until the end of the month, another is only an hour away and has a new litter right now with a flashy male available and also a five month old fawn boxer available. I don't want to be impulsive because that is how we ended up with a pet store boxer to begin with four years ago. We may go and visit the breeder who is close just so I can get a feel for her and her pups. I have read that visiting a breeder and seeing where the dogs are raised can say a lot about the breeder. I found her through the AKC and she is associated with many boxer clubs. I do feel that she is reputable and knows the breed. I will keep you posted as to what happens.
