Regardless of mixing it with homecooked or not, it is not a high quality dog food. Is there anywhere in your area you can get a better dog food? Go to dogfoodanalysis.com and check it out.
When I did homecooked, I used a big pressure cooker and threw in about 10 lbs chicken thighs, chicken liver or hearts, sweet potatoes, spinach, green beans, carrots, peas, apples, blueberries and salmon (sometimes). You could add brown rice or whole grain pasta to make it go further if you wanted. I would then cook all this for two hours in my cooker, then mash up. The bones mash up with everything else so they are safe. I put in several contains or freezer bags and that way you don't have to cook as often. You can use any kind of meat but the bones in the beef meats probably won't cook up so you can mash them. If you don't use the bones, you might want to use a replacement source.
