I feel for you with this one its not nice to have something like that happen especially after a whole year with this trainer. I will say that when I did obedience with my boy Oscar, my trainer who I adore, was fantastic and we used a long line for his recall training. Which was very successful, although when I let him off the lead now, he will have a try every now and then to run in circles and not return (ha ha) but very rarely and when he does I ignore him turn my back and eventually when he calms down put him into sit and stay, and he does! I wish you all the best in finding another trainer who is more open to your suggestions, you are after all the owner. Hang in there!
