No the gray part isn't reflective although I was thinking about buying some reflective fabric paint and making it so...
Yes the gate is amazing! We have had it in several different places, and with the extensions it fits ANYWHERE! LOL Of course Hurricane can jump it without even trying, but he has only ever done that once, when we were using it to gate off the upstairs and DH and I were both upstairs... poor baby didn't want to be left alone! Now we use it to keep him out of the kitchen so he can't counter surf and its been great.
