northernboxr & nswain had some really great tips. I've been doing the leash/door nob/time out trick and it seems to be working like a charm. if she does it, i say ARGH and then tie her leash to a door nob (where she can't reach anything to chew on, or play with, she just has to sit there) say "time out" and then walk a way for a few minutes. if she starts whining i leave her there for longer until she stops whining, don't want her thinking she can have her way if she whines. she is definitely catching on! it's great!
